14.11.2022Albóndigas, this Spanish recipe cannot be missed if you are going to eat tapas. Meatballs in spicy tomato sauce are on the menu all over Spain and can also be eaten as a main meal. It's a simple recipe but super tasty, so enough reason to make it yourself.
Ingredients for a tasty Albóndigas:
- 500 gr minced meat
- 1 egg
- 500 ml sieved tomatoes
- 1/2 onion
- pepper and salt
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 teaspoon paprika powder
- 5 tablespoons breadcrumbs
- olive oil
- 1 red pepper
Preparation of Albondigas:
Start with the meat. Add one egg, the breadcrumbs, one clove of garlic, the paprika, salt and pepper. Mix with your hands until everything is well mixed. Then make balls of it.
Now heat the olive oil in the pan and put the meatballs in the pan. Brown it nicely on all sides. This works best if you start with high heat, when the balls have a nice crust, lower the heat and let the meatballs continue cooking.
Now you move on to the sauce. Heat some oil again in another pan. Add the onion, red pepper and one clove of garlic to the pan. Fruit all of this. Then add the sieved tomatoes and let it get warm. Finally, add some sugar, salt and pepper to season the sauce.
Now you can add the meatballs to the tomato sauce and stir well. Serve the Albóndigas in a bowl or directly on a plate.
